Neurovascular corns, also known as Intractable Plantar Keratosis (IPK), are painful, thickened lesions that develop on the soles of the feet, typically in areas exposed to chronic pressure or friction.
Recent reports have identified co-infection with human papillomavirus (HPV) in neurovascular corns, detected through PCR analysis[4]. This viral presence may contribute to the persistence and treatment resistance of these lesions.
Swift treatment has been shown to significantly reduce pain in patients with IPK, with results sustained for up to 18 months post-treatment[5]. Resolution of the IPK entirely may also been seen in some cases.

Onychomycosis is a common fungal infection of the nails, characterised by thickened, brittle, discoloured, and deformed nails, most commonly affecting the toenails.
The prevalence rate is up to 14% in North America and 24% in Europe[6].
The condition is caused by dermatophytes, non-dermatophyte moulds, or yeasts, such as Trichophyton rubrum or Candida species, which invade the nail plate and surrounding tissue.
Microwave energy penetrates the nail plate efficiently, targeting fungal organisms through localized heat without damaging surrounding tissue [7].
A Swift treatment for distal and lateral subungual onychomycosis consists of 5 repetitions of a 3 second dose, repeated every 2 weeks for 6 sessions in conjunction with topical antifungal medication.
As the microwave intervention is not dependent on a target molecule, the treatment has shown applicability to squalene epoxidase (SQLE) mutations of T. Rubrum, an azole-resistant strain of fungus.

Cystic acne is a severe form of acne vulgaris characterized by deep, inflamed, and often painful nodules or cysts that develop due to obstruction and rupture of the sebaceous glands with subsequent inflammation. It occurs in approximately 20-30% of individuals with acne. Cystic acne primarily affects adolescents but untreated cystic acne may persist into adulthood[14].
The hyperthermia heating on acne has been shown to be effective in a range of devices[15]. Microwave-induced hyperthermia has demonstrated improvements in cystic lesions, offering rapid treatment with minimal discomfort or needs of patient compliance.
A typical treatment is 5 repetitions of a 2 second dose, 3 times a month apart. Typically, no further self-administered patient measures are required.

Molluscum contagiosum (MC) is a viral skin infection leading to the formation of multiple individual benign papules most commonly in children (5-10%) and immunocompromised individuals, such as those with HIV.
Swift microwave therapy has been shown to activate innate immune pathways—including induction of HSP70, antigen presentation, and apoptosis—supporting lesion clearance through natural immune processes [12,13]. Given that similar outcomes between HPV-infected lesions and MC have already been observed following application of hyperthermia, Swift is again able to use the body’s immune system to resolve lesions.
Case reports in children have shown full clearance in 35 patients who had their lesions confirmed by dermoscopy and subsequently treated by Swift microwave technology.

The number of treatments varies depending on the size and duration of the verruca. On average, patients see significant improvement with three and a half sessions. For some people, the verruca will resolve more quickly that the suggested three treatments, for others additional treatments may be necessary.
